Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Sweep Digital Inc. ("Sweep", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our software platform at try-sweep.com, the Sweep mobile app, and related services (the "Service"). Sweep is based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Sweep provides business-management software to service businesses ("Customers"). In doing so we handle two kinds of information: information about the Customers (and their team members) who sign up for Sweep, and information about their clients that Customers store in the platform ("End User Data"). For End User Data, the Customer is responsible for that information (the data controller) and Sweep processes it only on the Customer's instructions, as a service provider (data processor). If you are a client of a business that uses Sweep, please contact that business first about your information.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your name, business name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account.
- Billing information: when you subscribe, payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We store a customer and subscription reference, but we do not store your full card number.
- Content you add: data you enter into the platform, including your customers' names, contact details, addresses, bookings, invoices, quotes, messages, and any files or photos you upload.
- Legal acceptance: when you sign up, we record which version of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy you accepted and when.
- Live demo: when you open our live demo we ask for your email, and optionally your company name, industry and city. We use it to follow up about your demo and to measure demo interest. We send marketing emails only if you tick the consent box, and we record that consent (wording, date and IP address).
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see section 2 below.
Mobile app data
- Photos and camera: if you allow camera or photo access, the photos you take or choose are uploaded to the job or booking you attach them to. We do not access your photo library otherwise.
- Push notification tokens: if you allow notifications, we store a device token so we can send you job and booking alerts. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.
- Location: the app does not collect your device's location. Addresses shown on maps are the job addresses entered into Sweep.
2. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar browser storage:
- Session cookie (strictly necessary): keeps you signed in and keeps the Service secure. The Service cannot work without it.
- Cookie-consent choice (strictly necessary): remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, stored in your browser.
- Google Analytics 4 cookies (analytics, optional): set only after you click "Accept All" on our cookie banner. They help us understand how visitors use our website. If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded.
sweep_utm(first-party attribution): if you arrive from a link with campaign parameters (for example, an ad or newsletter), we record the campaign source, medium, and name for 90 days so we know which campaigns bring people to Sweep.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies. To change your choice, clear the cookies and site data for try-sweep.com in your browser settings; the cookie banner will appear again on your next visit so you can choose again. You can also block cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to sign in without the session cookie.
3. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To process subscriptions, payments, and send billing and account notifications.
- To send transactional emails (for example, welcome, password reset, and notifications you enable).
- To send occasional product news and marketing emails to Sweep users. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of these emails; you will still receive essential account and billing messages.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use End User Data for advertising.
Text messages (SMS)
Mobile numbers are used only to send the text messages described on our Support page (appointment and account messages) and to receive replies. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help.
Consent records: when you enter your mobile number next to our text-message notice, we keep a record of your consent: your number, the date and time, the exact wording you agreed to, the page, your IP address and browser type. We also keep a record when you reply STOP or START. We use these records only to prove consent and honour opt-outs, and keep them for as long as we may text you and for up to 4 years after, as evidence if a question about consent ever comes up.
Phone calls and voicemail
When you call a Sweep phone number, we receive your phone number and the time of the call. If the call is about a business that uses Sweep, it is forwarded to that business. If you leave a voicemail, it is recorded and automatically transcribed by our telephone provider (Twilio), and the recording, transcript and your number are emailed to the business you called (or to Sweep support). Calls are not recorded unless you choose to leave a voicemail. Voicemails are kept by Twilio for up to 12 months and then deleted; copies sent by email are kept by the recipient under their own policies.
4. Service providers (subprocessors)
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the Service. They only receive the data needed to perform their function and are bound by contract to protect it:
- Stripe: subscription billing, and card payments that Customers take from their own clients (Stripe Connect). United States and Canada.
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES): delivering the emails sent by the Service. United States.
- Twilio: sending and receiving SMS text messages, forwarding phone calls, and recording and transcribing voicemails. United States.
- Cloudinary: image and file storage (logos, job photos, website images). United States.
- Google: optional Google sign-in, maps, address geocoding and travel-distance estimates, Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent), and Firebase Cloud Messaging for mobile push notifications. United States.
- Floot (with Neon for the managed Postgres database): application hosting and database storage. United States.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Sweep, our Customers, or the public.
5. Data retention
- While you are subscribed: we keep your account data for as long as your account is active.
- After cancellation or a deletion request: on request, we will provide an export of your data within 30 days. We then delete your data within 90 days.
- Backups: encrypted backups are deleted on their normal cycle, up to 30 days later.
- Records we must keep by law: for example, billing and tax records are kept for 7 years, as required by Canadian tax law.
You can request deletion of your account at any time; see our account deletion page and "Your rights" below.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@try-sweep.com. We will respond to access and correction requests within 30 days. If your data was provided to a Customer's Sweep account (that is, you are an End User), please contact that business directly, as they control that data; we will assist them as their processor.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (www.priv.gc.ca) or, if you live in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (www.cai.gouv.qc.ca).
7. Security and breach notification
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls, and tenant isolation so that each business's data is kept separate. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
If a security breach affects your personal information and creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected Customers without undue delay and report the breach to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and/or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec where required by law. We keep a record of all breaches involving personal information.
8. Where your data is stored (international transfers)
Your information is stored and processed in Canada and the United States, where Sweep and our service providers listed above operate. When data is processed outside your province or country, it may be accessible to courts and authorities there under local law. Our providers are bound by contract to protect your information and use it only to provide their services to us.
Quebec residents: before sending personal information outside Quebec, we assess whether it will receive adequate protection, and we rely on contractual safeguards with our providers.
9. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Privacy Officer
Our Privacy Officer is responsible for compliance with this policy. Contact: privacy@try-sweep.com.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you.
